Life Story

Howard K. Tull was the younger of Rosa and Edward's two children who survived childhood. He was born on January 12, 1907 and died of natural causes at age 90 on August 17, 1997 in Pompano Beach Florida. He is buried at Boynton Beach Memorial Park Cemetery.

The 1940 census shows that he was a cab driving living with his parents at 4244 Girard Avenue in Philadelphia. He completed high school and was earning $1,200 per year. Howard enlisted in the army during WWII on May 17, 1943 and was released on August 29, 1945. His WWII army enlistment record indicates that he was a private who was enlisted for the duration of the war or for "other emergencies plus 6 months subject to the discretion of the president". His civil occupation was listed as a semi skilled chauffeur and driver of bus, taxi, truck or tractor. He was also listed as separated with dependents. A search of marriage and birth records in Pennsylvania and surrounding states did not turn up his wife's name or marriage date or the names of his dependents.
